My work ultimately seeks to create imagery I longed to witness in adolescence. Through film, art direction, and photography, I explore contemporary narratives, focusing on the subtle, multifaceted ways joy and identity intersect.

I capture my subjects through a soft, observational lens, using both digital and film mediums. My style emphasizes natural light, warmth, and an atmospheric sensibility that invites a deeper emotional connection with the viewer. I draw inspiration from contemporary filmmakers such as Steve McQueen, Mati Diop, and Michaela Coel, whose storytelling practices inform my approach to authentic representation.

 

I believe my work disrupts dominant societal narratives that often excludes many in saying that there is space for difference and that we can always generate new approaches to creating art that doesn’t already exist.
